German Update from the Intermediate Class

This is a brief update of what we have been doing in the
Intermediate German class throughout October and November.

In October we focused on Herbst and Deutschland  by:
·        Making our own Herbst Bingo
·        Doing a listening comprehension and picture
·        Drawing our own end to a story
·        Making a mind map with a partner about Germany
·        Looking at posters of beautiful sights in Germany
·        Discussing the different geography in Germany: Seen, Bergen, Flüsse
·        Making sketches of famous places in Germany
·        Learning typical customs through music and actions

In November we celebrated St. Martin by:
·        Singing the typical songs for St. Martin
·        Acting out the story
·        Making lanterns
·        Participating in the school assembly

We continued our unit on Deutschland by:
·        Reading and acting out Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten
·        Singing 4 songs for the musical of the Bremer Stadtmusikanten   and performing them for the Advanced class
·        Making our own book and sequencing the pictures.
·        Retelling the story to the Beginner class
·        Matching emotions with the different characters in the story (böse, fröhlich, trauig, überrascht)
·        Illustrating the characters with these feelings and dictating our ideas to the teacher (see the green booklet)

We will be sending your child´s work home on Friday. You may keep these pages and pictures at home, but please return the plastic folder and green booklet. Please encourage your child to speak with you in German about what they have been learning.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through the school office.

Sincerely, Frau Scherpel
