A note went home outlining a Unit of Inquiry project that explores who we are. We asked you to brainstorm with your child of things that they could put in the box that represents who they are, how they learn and how they solve a problem. Here are some examples of what your child might want to include:
Who I am? :
- flag
- familiy photos
- age
- birthday
- pet photos
- photos of favourite toys that have a special meaning
- sports photos/items
- item from collection
How I learn? :
- photos of places they like to learn in at home (ie. quiet spaces)
-drawings of themselves working with others or alone
- things that they are talented at (ie. piano, dance, soccer)
How do I solve problems?:
- tim bug
- picture of people talking
- create a buddy bench
- picture of shaking hands
- picture of moving away from situations
These are just some examples that could go in the thinking box. We will be creating opportunities for students to create items for their thinking box at school. A discussion at home would be a wonderful support to our inquiry and any personal items that your child would like to bring in should be brought in by next Wednesday, the 22nd of September.
Upon completion of the Inquiry the box will be sent home to be shared with the child's family.
