"Ich heiße Lu. Wie heißt du?" During German lessons students have gotten to know Lu, a friendly duck who likes to eat spaghetti and sleep. Some students have even brought in stuffed animals to keep Lu company. Unfortunately, Lu has been a bit sick (krank) lately.
Your child may have also told you about Muzzy, the big green alien with a taste for clocks, and his friends in the kingdom of Gondoland. Ask your child about rhymes like "Eins, zwei Polizei" or "Zehn kleine Finger" or songs like "Alle meine Entchen," "Kopf, Schultern, Knie und Zehen," or "Ja, grüß dich!" We also play games like rotes Licht/grünes Licht ; Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst; flyswatters; Richtig so!; and Hatschi Patschi.
I hope that your child feels comfortable in German lessons and has enjoyed learning to count, to name colors and to ask and answer questions about themselves.
