Dear Parents,
We are all really excited about our new inquiry unit: Living things affect and adapt to their environment. We are looking forward to our trip to the Zoo next week and to finding out more about different habitats and the living things found there.
Over the course of the unit the Grade One classes will be turning their classrooms into different habitats. We could use some help in making this happen. We will be discussing the changing environments of various regions and hope that you can have the same discussions at home with your children to help facilitate the learning going on in the classroom.
If you have any of the following items could you please send them in:
· Very large cardboard boxes (flattened)
· Medium to large cardboard boxes (flattened)
· Cardboard tubes from toilet paper rolls and paper towels
· Clean empty cereal boxes
· Old newspapers
Finally, please ask your children if they have enough glue sticks. They seem to be in short supply.
